These amazing men and women BUILT THIS COUNTRY and they deserve to be acknowledged and compensated for their incredible work and for how our government have treated them so despicably!!!!

I am disgusted with the way we have treated those that helped us to rebuild our economy in the post-war years - many of whose children have been at the frontline of serving us in the Covid-19 crisis. It makes me ashamed to be British.

The government clearly got this wrong. Put it right now, give the people affected the compensation they deserve. Admit this was a racist policy, ill thought through and do better (much better) next time.

I saw “Sitting in Limbo” and I’m appalled that the travesties have still not been compensated.

The Windrush generation are entitled to compensation and an apology from the Government and the Home Office. It is not acceptable to treat people in this way. Enough.

The Windrush Generation continue to be persecuted and disregarded. The compensation scheme set up by the government is not effective - a pot of reportedly £220m has disbursed just £220,000 to 60 people. nearly 1300 WG applicants have received no justice. The bar has deliberately been set high- which means the onus is still on our elders and their children to prove their Britishness. This is even though the Home Office has admitted to destroying the Windrush Generations arrival/landing cards - (deliberately I say) which proved our ties to this country. This cannot go on. We will not stand for this utter disrespect to our people
