Judicial review of DFT decision to award South West Trains franchise to First MTR
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
A judicial review into the decision to award the South West Trains franchise to First group /MTR.
This gives First a strangle hold over 90% of rail services in South West England and is anti competitive.
Also if this retrograde change had to proceed then the travelling public need assurances on the following ....
Existing rolling stock and train carriage lengths on all routes will be maintained or increased only and train stock can only be replaced by new trains not refurbished.
Fare increases will be capped.
No services will be cut where existing overlaps exist between First GWR routes.
There will be no cutbacks in services existing time tables and fare structures to remain.
Trains will run on time where there is normal service conditions.
GWR will remain wholly separate entity unlike Thames Trains in London where there has been a reduction in rolling stock since First took over and merged it with GWR.
