If you own a semi-detached house, you need to read this!

I am the owner of a semi-detached house but my neighbour has applied for planning permission to build an attached house to his property. This in effect will change my house into an end of terrace, I thought surely not, how can this be allowed? It turns out that this is completely legal but morally reprehensible. I want the law to be changed/updated so that I can protect my home and keep it as a semi-detached. The people that this has already happened to should be compensated and the people that it will happen to should also get compensation. Why don't I have any rights as a homeowner? How can someone else change the status of my house? This in effect devalues my house. Unlike my neighbour who has actually never lived here, this is my only house. Why should I suffer for his financial gain? If I had wanted to live in an end of terrace I would have bought one and saved some money.
Also the parking in this area is wholly inadequate, there are already too many cars for the parking spaces provided. My neighbours and I are currently strongly objecting to this proposal again as it was denied last time but has been resubmitted.
If you own a semi-detached or think this is wrong I urge you, please sign my petition in case it happens to you too.
