Help raise awareness and get more research for IIH (Idiopathic intracranial hypertension)

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) (also known as Pseudotumor Cerebri or PTC) is a condition characterized by excessive cerebrospinal fluid around the brain with no known cause. The most common symptoms are severe headache, nausea/vomiting, vision distortion or loss, and pulsitile tinnitus (ringing or whooshing in the ears with heartbeat.) Complications can include permanent loss of vision.
There is not sufficient research behind this disease. It affects 1-2 in every 100,000 people, and those affected have few options available. Medication, if effective, often comes with several unpleasant side effects, while surgical options have a high rate of failure and often remain uncomfortable to painful for the patient even after recovery.
For many patients, "normal" is a seemingly unattainable goal. Moderate to severe pain can be a daily experience and quality of life is often a struggle.
By signing this petition, you can help IIH sufferers get the care we need through additional research that we hope will lead to better treatment options, or even a cure.
We need your help. We need your hope.
