This petition had 592 supporters

Usain Bolt is a sporting legend whose legacy has been secured forever. Usain Bolt has made history in athletics, holding world records for the 100m, 200m and 4x100m. An 8-time Olympic Champion and 11-time World Champion, Bolt is the fastest runner ever on the planet and his long list of medals and achievements have rightly earned him the reputation as the greatest sprinter of all time.

Usain Bolt has represented Jamaica to the fullest on the world stage and has made his country proud, and he has become an icon and an outstanding role model with people of all ages, cultures and background all around the world looking up to him. He has entertained millions of fans around the world throughout his career and created a love of athletics through generations. As a Commonwealth citizen and honorary Londoner I feel that Bolt’s marvellous achievements deserve to be officially recognised here in the UK, as other sporting heroes have been, and it would make me so proud to be a part of it and make it happen.

After recently running his final race of a glittering career, I agree with others such as Dean Brown who started a petition on this, that Usain Bolt is a living legend and deserves the ultimate recognition for his incredible achievements. I call on the Prime Minister and the government to support calls for Bolt to be given a Knighthood for services to athletics.

Please join me in signing the petition to give Usain St Leo Bolt a Knighthood.
