Get the major U.K. supermarkets to use recycled plastic, and recycle their waste.

The UK population is told to recycle plastics and glass etc. But large UK supermarkets don't recycle plastic bags, use non-recyclable wrapping in their products, and throw away thousands of pounds worth of food waste per day. It should be the law to use biodegrable bags for customers, recyclable / recycled materials for own-brand products, or a system similar to Germany where bottles are reusable, where you pay a deposit on your bottles, and are refunded when you return them to that supermarket (possibly in the form of a voucher : nectar card points, mywaitrose points, Tesco club card points etc)
There's no more time to choose the easy way out, the world needs to wake up and start practising a sustainable commerce.
The amount of food waste that gets thrown away everyday could feed the whole of the UK's homeless free of charge.
The amount of landfill waste made by supermarkets is substantial and avoidable. This will affect us in years to come, it's already affecting our oceans, killing wildlife and affecting the ecosystem.
Please help make this the law and take the UK away from the wasteful habits we have become accustomed to and into a more sustainable future.
