Free sanitary product vouchers for under 18s

As reported on BBC news, girls are going without basic sanitary protection for a number of reasons. Not every girl has a family supporting them, education to understand their options or money to buy products.
I would like to see vouchers issued to girls under 18 to allow them a basic range of options and education about their bodies and any potential related health issues to look for. Sanitary protection is essential and should not be seen as anything but a basic human right.
Not all girls would want to use their vouchers but at least the option would be available. Perhaps sponsored by manufacturers or large retailers. Brand loyalty would be likely to last after the girl reaches 18. That would be their incentive.
This petition is to lobby the UK parliament and sanitary product manufacturers and retailers to consider the welfare of young women and to consider acting in accordance with their best interests. I would very much welcome the opportunity of dicsussing the issue with those listed as recipients of this petition.
