Disclose the ingredients in your products
I believe that we should prevent death of individuals by disclosing information of ingredients contained in products sold to consumers. Due to lack of information on ingredients on the packaging of products, it has lead to many people being put in serious harm. If you have some form of allergy and it has not been specific on the label/menu, how is it fair that you suffer due to other people's mistakes? My friend passed away this year due to unawareness that something was deep fried in peanut oil and I think it's unbelievable that there is no specific punishment put in place if you haven't fully disclosed the ingredients in your products. This has happened to many people but thankfully not all of them have ended this traumatically but if you take someone's life away due to your laziness why shouldn't you get a serious sentence? I do not believe it is fair that your local authority decide your verdict as its usually only an improvement notice.
What I want to change?
1. I think that every place that sells edible/drinkable products to consumers should have a minimum of two epipens in their place of work.
2. There should be more awareness raised, from a younger age, of how to deal with people who are experiencing an allergic reaction and how to recognise the symptoms early, possibly from being taught at school.
3. A stricter and set punishment should be in place if you do not disclose the ingredients in your products.
4. Minimise the cost of epipens. How is it fair that you have to pay to save your own life due to something you cannot prevent?
