I was In a relationship nearly 10 years and had a two year old daughter that my ex partner gave birth to. Before we conceived we looked into having a private donor so we could see if they were suitable instead of looking through catalogues of people we don't know. We looked at the legal side and he signed away all rights. We had our beautiful girl in August 2014 after all the emotions a few weeks later we went to Worcester county hall to have her registered and we were told at that point I couldn't be put on the birth certificate as we weren't married. I was gutted but reassured that I could then go onto have a parental order in place if we getting married. Now 3 years later one failed relationship and no parental rights I've hadto say goodbye to a child I love and now I'm left heartbroken. Please tell me why a woman can take any man with her to register her child and put him down as a father But a couple who have gone into having a child cannot do the same.  It's too late for me but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the hurt that I have.
