Ban the selling of Fireworks to the General Public

Every year countless animals and people have to suffer the anxiety of their homes being intruded by loud, unexpected noises. This happens from around late October to late January with no regard to time of day or their neighbours. It affects not just animals, but those with mental difficulties such as PTSD.
On top of this, shops freely sell high explosives to naive members of the public who have no idea of how to store them properly. This is not counting those who (stupidly) experiment with them and attempt to create a louder boom.
We need a serious discussion in this country around the sale of fireworks to the general public. Organised events, which are properly licensed are fine. We should move to licensing fireworks to create an atmosphere of respect for others and most of all, public safety.
