Allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote at the upcoming general election on 8 June
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
As this is an election based on ensuring a successful Brexit, the policies that the next government have will affect the negotiation process with both the EU and other nations. It's therefore vital to lower the voting age as younger people will be most affected by Brexit and the deals made from it. This age group is too often ignored by Westminster, which is leading to increased political apathy amongst young people. This must change so that 16 and 17 year olds are represented, as they can make many of their own choices, yet they are not allowed to place a cross on a ballot paper. Not everyone who can vote will be affected by the outcome of Brexit, but our generation will. Do not deny us a say in our future.
