A nationally recognised carers card

There are many places and activities that my son who is autistic is unable to access on his own, the vast majority of places we visit have the common sense to realise that he is in need of assistance over and above that of someone of the same age without a disability, the vast majority offer free access to one carer to accompany him, sadly however there are many places that ask for proof that you are a carer, when it is so obvious that my son needs support. There are local schemes offering some type of card these provide emergency contact details but there is nothing that is nationally recognized officially by organizations across the UK. I feel that there is an opportunity to put policy in place by way of PIP Entitlement or other disability/carers benefits to provide proof that an individual is in need of support or care and to help avoid embarrassing and sometimes degrading treatment by ignorant individuals and organizations who should have the common sense to know better.
Thank you with your support I hope we can make a difference, please let your family, friends and work colleagues know about my petition
