Call on Theresa May to follow the recommendations in the UN Climate Change Report

The October 2018 IPCC report on climate change is the most urgent call for action yet. Without following the recommendations in the report, the planet is set to rise in temperature beyond 1.5 °C as early as 2030 - that's just 12 years away.

Beyond a rise of 1.5 °C, the planet starts to become unliveable. Coral reefs will be wiped out, millions will be exposed to flooding and essential crops such as maize and rice will be much harder to grow.

This petition calls on the UK government to follow the recommendations set out in the IPCC report, such as reducing CO2 emissions by around 45% by 2030, and moving away from fossil fuels entirely.

The 2030 Paris agreement is no longer enough. More needs to be done. The difficult decisions can't be delayed any longer; the UK government must act now, before it's too late.
