Therapy Dog for Sissonville High School

Therapy Dog for Sissonville High School
The school years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 has been a challenging time for us all, teenagers and adults due to Covid-19. Covid-19 came out of no where and impacted lifes of a lot of people. Covid-19 has impacted people's life through their home life and their school life.
Covid-19 has increased everyone's stress levels. Students have to worry about being quarantined and missing out on a week or two's worth of school work. Teachers have to continue to change their lesson plans and adapt to new things. Everyone has.
So, to attempt to make school life more enjoyable and to help students and teachers with stress and such, I petition that we get a Therapy Dog. If we were to get one, it could reside in the commons, the office, or in the counselor suite.
A study done by Washington State University and Kent State University showed that when having a therapy dog at a college, it boosted the students' attention and memory and helped relieve stress
