Friends of Kletzsch Park started this petition to Theo Lipscomb and the Milwaukee COunty Board of Supervisors

Milwaukee County’s plan to “improve” Kletzsch Park at the dam would remove the entire bluff down to the river level back to the Oak Leaf trail, destroying all of the old oaks, and pushing viewing back as much as 100 feet.

We oppose any excavation and construction for the ramps, platforms, or hardscape which would alter the old bur oak trees, the bluff, and the naturalized west bank up and down river from the dam.

Kletzsch Park's signature dam area must be maintained as an important historical and aesthetic area within Lapham's Indian Prairie. We encourage seeking alternatives to the current proposal and exploring the East side bank as an option for the fish passage.
