The Eastern Cape Department of Education has time and time again failed to pay educator assistants on time. Last year when the project started the ECDOE paid the majority of Educator Assistants 3 months late, whilst a certain few either did not receive their salary or were not paid in full. 

It has become evident during the 2nd phase that the previous problems faced in phase 1 were not addressed as we as we have not received our November payments.

On the 1st of December 2021 there was a letter shared by the ECDOE stating that all EA's and GSA's will be paid on or before the 5th. As I write this today the date is the 6th of December 2021 and there have been no payments made.

We find this to be very worrying as the whole aim of the project is to try and curb the unemployment scourge ravaging the Youth of South Africa, but with them not receiving the money they worked for it begs the question what exactly is the whole purpose of the project if the people meant to benefit from it are not being notified of any possible delays?
