Although the level of knowledge we have about addiction as a disease is increasing, there still seems to be a lack of representation for junkies in Disney Films. What better time to educate people on different aspects of addiction than when they are kids?

Portraying a drug addict in a Disney Movie is a perfect way to tackle some of the more sensitive subjects when it comes to addiction. Things like, "Why does daddy sporadically leave for 90 days?" or "Mommy, where did all our spoons go?"

By creating a character that deals with addiction, kids all over the world can start to have a better understanding about drugs and the effect they can have on your life. Maybe Sleeping Beauty is just blacked out. Maybe Prince Charming just put some Molly in your drink.  Maybe Beauty from Beauty in the Beast was hallucinating off of PCP.

The unfortunate reality is this, your children will be exposed to narcotics at some point in their life. A Disney Movie paired with the DARE program is a sure fire way to make sure your child makes it to at least middle school before he starts boofing rocks with the boys.

In conclusion, if you don't sign this petition then your child probably already sniffs glue.
