“This is not going to go the way you think!” - Luke Skywalker.
How right he was.
The Last Jedi was different. Leia can force pull herself through space! Rey's parents are nobodies!(?) Luke did what?! Supreme Leader Snoke is... dead? Porgs are adorable, and I would like one for Christmas.
And you know what? It's my new favorite Star Wars film.
The Last Jedi is its own movie, filled with inevitabilities, obvious plot lines, and HUGE TWISTS. It does stand out in a new and different way than the rest of the saga. That is what made the movie amazing! The Last Jedi isn't like the other Star Wars movies, and it SHOULDN'T be. Luke's story sends him down a path that we never saw coming. Snoke's sudden, unanticipated, somewhat anti-climactic, death was startling and showed that sometimes you don't get to know all the backstory and details. It pushed the story into something greater, catapulting Ben (Kylo Ren) Solo into possibly the main antagonists position, and setting him on a path that we have to wait and see where it leads. Sometimes things just aren't what they look like from the outside. SOMETIMES YOU DON'T GET THE STORY YOU WANT, and I'm sorry if this hasn't come to your attention before, but sometimes life isn't fair. Just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean it should be gotten rid of or written off. As the world progresses and moves forward I think that the legacy of Star Wars should as well. I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a little girl, have invested myself into it's immense universe and gotten swept up in its great adventure. I loved The Last Jedi, and if you agree with me, then let's join together and vocalize that we want to keep The Last Jedi as canon and let it be left alone, just the way it is; because strong with this one the force is.
