The D23 expo provides a thrilling experience for its fans to learn about new projects in the works by The Walt Disney Company through panels, guest appearances, etc. Naturally, the event encompasses a large shopping aspect for its attendees, providing a plethora of merchandise to be previewed and pre-purchased. However, organizers of the expo tend to release a multitude of collector items in small quantities only to the members present on a first come first server basis. These items on average range in higher quality than the mass produced items that will be open to the "general" public. Considering the nature of the event, exclusive items add incentive to attending, but space is limited. The arena at the Anaheim convention center can only seat a mere 7500 people. The Walt Disney Company has enthusiasts around every corner of the world, yet center a single three day biennial convention for all of its "fans" even though it is not accessible for the majority of the Disney community. We as Disney admirers ask for greater opportunity to obtain merchandise that we continue to support the company for. We also ask for greater consideration in the mass produced items that retail for the same price as exclusives but at a significantly lower qualities. Currently our only means of owning said items are through second hand markets, like eBay, which consist of many scalpers who quadruple the original price of items sometimes even before the convention has opened its doors. We ask for acknowledgement and fairness from the Disney company: to stop catering to just the "Disney Elite", to recognize the fans you have globally accumulated, and above all to cater equal quality throughout all merchandise that is released.
