To Whom It May Concern, 

I am writing on behalf of the residents in The Village of Entrada. Particularly those who reside on Tarragona Court, Loreto Court, Manzilla Lane and Acapulco Circle, to address the deceit and poor business conducted by DR Horton when building and/or purchasing our homes in this newly developed community. 

Upon finalizing any deals or contracts, many of us were guaranteed a fountain view of the lake that is situated behind our homes - a selling point that also costs extra. Aside from it being an attractive feature, the fountain serves as a valuable asset to the lake and surrounding homes, as it prevents stagnant water from developing contamination, which can affect residents’ breathing when outside or affect homes when the lake floods. 

The lakes must be properly oxygenated to prevent stagnant water, as still water serves as nothing more than a breeding ground for midge flies and mosquitos. Fountains provide oxygenation for the lakes, benefitting fish and aquatic animals while also helping to move whatever floats to the bottom, such as wildlife that dies and decomposes. Yearly, freshwater lakes turn over and have an algae bloom, and without proper water movement, algae builds up, causing potential harm to our lakes, its aquatic life as well as the community in many ways.

In addition, we have concerns about the two fountains located on Acapulco Circle, between Manzilla Lane and Denia Court. They are poorly positioned, only allowing water movement on one side of the lake. The concerned residents and I are requesting either an additional fountain be placed on the opposite end of the cul-de-sac or relocate one of the existing fountains. 

It has been almost two years since I have been in my home and have reached out to numerous DR Horton representatives with little to no feedback or notice of the fountain progress. New homes continue to be built nearby, so we know funding is not of concern.

Our last attempt to resolve this matter was addressed to Rhonda Blakeman, VP of Property Management to which she responded “I was advised by the developer that all fountains that were ever going to be installed, were and are installed. They did not plan for fountains in every lake. If the association wants more, they can get them installed after turnover.” This is unacceptable. 

We, the residents of Entrada, are disappointed in the Entrada and DR Horton team and feel cheated. This must be made right, giving the residents what they were promised by your sales team while also eliminating issues caused by stagnant water. 

We should not have to pay for something that was never delivered and does not plan to be. This is a gross misconduct of trust and ethics, and we would like this rectified as soon as possible. 

If a fountain is not installed or promised in writing in these mentioned lakes by the end of September 2021, we will be reaching out to all the local news stations about the company’s negligent misrepresentation of the community and its properties. We will also be working further with an attorney who we have already contacted to file individual civil suits against DR Horton.
