We believe that the use of golf carts is a beneficial travel practice for Minnetonka Beach and we would like to keep the policies around golf carts, not only as they have been in the past, but also to promote more wide-spread use of such low speed vehicles.  Especially compared to car and truck traffic there are huge advantages to golf carts.  Golf carts are affordable, have less impact on our roads as they are smaller and weigh less,  have great maneuverability on our non-curbed roads, can be pulled off to the side more readily and be less of a traffic block, travel slowly and quietly, are electric and eco-friendly.  They are also easier for disabled persons to travel around while enjoying the outdoors.  We believe that it would be advantageous of anyone of license age to travel via golf cart when possible as it coincides with our Minnetonka Beach policies around a quaint, and social neighborhood atmosphere.  While we have our 3-4 months of weather appropriate for golf-carts, our village should be taking more advantage of this friendly, community-spirited, mode of transportation. We are for the current policies and rules regarding golf carts and other motorized vehicles and wish for no new rules to be implemented.
