Kyle N started this petition to The UWI Guild of Students

Following our recent Climate Change protest on campus, it seems fitting that we as a community, and representatives of our region’s future, should further relay the message and urge those around us to take action to protect the environment. A simple act as bringing your own reuseable food container, utensils, bag, and straw can have a great positive impact for the environment. We can start by consulting with the food and drink service providers that operate within our campus to cooperate with UWI students or staff who wish to bring their own containers. By implementing a zero single use plastic campaign on campus we can educate our UWI community about the choices we can make to reduce our footprint and become more aware of the negative effects of single use plastics on the environment. I am confident that many in our community are concerned about the environment and would happily support and partake in such a campaign.
