Important to save our history; preservation of properties such as this for future generations to enjoy. It is an incredible place. Should be on the historic registry.

The Utah Pantages Theater is a beautiful building of international significance. While splitting the auditorium into two screens caused unfortunate damage to the original design this can be restored. Other theatres which have suffered serious water damage and decay have successfully re-opened following full restoration. The Utah Pantages is in a far better state than many of these. Vaudeville and American Cinema are a important contribution to the 20th century cultural sharing of the USA with the world. The unique theatres/movie palaces that were built to present these entertainments should be cared for as well. They are treasures and with a sound reuse plan can be wonderful community centers.

Preservation of local history is vital. Having a place like this connects us with our ancestors who walked its halls. There are plenty of empty land available for building apartment buildings. We don’t need to destroy history in order to do it.
