As the number of Covid-19 cases rises by the minute, millions of students are forced to self-isolate and cannot attend universities. Lockdown is really necessary and social distancing is crucial to keep the virus at bay so because of that, university students aren't getting the correct or even adequate experience. Labs are closing down (which is one of the most important aspects of some degrees), libraries have limited time periods, and other resources are currently unavailable.

All these limitations are obviously understandable but students are still paying the same amount of money for less education. Online lectures and online labs are not the same and this causes disruptions in studies so it only makes sense that our tuition fees get reduced. International students already pay 20,000 pounds a year plus the added fees of housing and living costs bringing an annual spending of 25,000 to 30,000 pounds. But we happily pay it because we get to study at a prestigious university which obviously, like every other university, got hindered by the pandemic. Many international students are still in their home countries studying online but still paying the same amount which seems unfair.

I would like students to consider this and sign this petition because we are not getting the services we were promised (for obvious reasons) and we want a portion of our fees back from the University of Sheffield.
