N B started this petition to The University of Nottingham

This petition has been started due to overly harsh and unsympathetic marking at the University of Nottingham.

We are all struggling during this difficult time and many students have found their assessment results have dropped dramatically. We are all under a lot of strain and pressure due to the pandemic, reduced quality of teaching and contact time, as lectures have been online now for a number of months. However, the university seems to have forgotten that this is the case, as it has been noticed that marking has been extremely harsh for a lot of modules as well as initial feedback being found unhelpful. It is widely believed amongst students that extenuating circumstances in regards to stress, should not have to be applied for as it should already apply to all of us given the pandemic.

The feedback that is being received after assessment submission is unclear and often not relevant or reflective of the quality of work students are submitting. We are calling for the University of Nottingham to rethink its approach to marking criteria and its unsympathetic attitude that is currently being conveyed to its students.

If you want change and a fair chance of receiving the degree you deserve, sign now, and email this petition to vice-chancellor shearer.west@nottingham.ac.uk
