The University of Miami Should Boycott the Paul Finebaum Show

This petition had 901 supporters

On Thursday, November 10th 2017, Paul Finebaum of ESPN's Paul Finebaum Show, went on the air and made comments I found insulting to both the University of Miami's fan base, students, and community. He basically stated that we are a delusional fan base that has nothing to do with the success of the team. That we are living in the past, and that we are ungrateful for the job Mark Richt and his staff has done. He also stated that our program is lucky to still exist and that it should not, due to what some would call a checkered history.

Well, the fact of the matter is we are grateful for the job Coach Richt is doing and we are not living in the past, but we do honor that past black marks and all. Also, we come out every week to cheer for our school and that gives energy to the team and helps in recruiting when we pack Hard Rock Stadium.

These comments by Mr. Finebaum are rude and disparaging to its fan base. It also fuels the national perception of the University of Miami as thugs and hoodlums. When nothing could be further from the truth. Our Student-athletes at the UM have done wonderful work both on the field and off it within the community.

Thus I have created this petition to ask The University of Miami to boycott all Coaches (including Coach Richt) and all players from making an appearance on his show until such time as Mr.Finebaum apologizes to the Students, Fans, and the Community of Miami for rude and ill-informed comments.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. []_[]
