Removal of the Hurdle Requirement, Because of the Difficulty Level of the Exam

Dear Alan,

It was a pleasure having you as a lecturer for the subject for the last 12 weeks.

We are writing to you in regards to the examination and the difficulties most students experienced given the length of the exam paper.

Given the considerable time required in either parts we were not able to allocate enough time for for both sections and mostly, the questions were poorly answered in a rush.

There is a general state of panic amongst students as they are not sure what to expect from marking of the papers since its a hurdle examination which we became aware of late in the semester. The exam was not a hurdle in previous years.

Also, some of the students had another 3 hours examination before this which also led to reduced performance.

We are hoping that you will remove the hurdle requirement considering the difficulty level of the final exam.
