For a university that always screams about its diversity and inclusion to not apologise for past mistakes, shows just how ignorant they still are towards issues such as this. How can someone learn lessons without first admitting they were wrong and apologise? I've witnessed 1st hand in this institution that homophobia and racism still very much exists here

UoB must accept responsibility for this terrible event and explicitly apologise, denounce all such anti-LGBT+ practices and positions (both nationally and worldwide), actively compensate those affected and make changes to ensure that such cruel things can never happen again. This is extra pertinent given their announced establishment of a campus in Dubai, who have laws specifically to punish and ostracize members of the LGBTQ+ community for simply existing.

I'm signing because I'm an alumnus who is disgusted by the university's response.
