Replace those monuments with indigenous food plants, like Eastern Redbud (bark tastes like cinnamon), sassafras, and pawpaws.

I ONLY Signed this idotic petition because it gives the illusion that it's wrong 2 tear down these monuments that they only were put up 2 show part of the history of the Civil War. It doesn't stand 4 racist & slavery ! It they all stand 4 the southerners NOT wanting 2 have these Invaders 2 Our land (who R the REAL WHITE SUPREMACISTS) With their GREED & Lust 4 Blood !!
All white people should stand accountable!!

How can the university be a safe, encouraging environment for students of color when Confederates are glorified? Everyone deserves a healthy place to get educated, and Confederate statues aren’t a part of that.

"[p]erhaps nothing illuminates the UDC's true nature more than its relationship with the Ku Klux Klan. ...The UDC during Jim Crow venerated the Klan and elevated it to a nearly mythical status. It dealt in and preserved Klan artifacts and symbology. It even served as a sort of public relations agency for the terrorist group."- lawyer Greg Huffman, writing in Facing South…..might as well put up a statue commemorating the KKK. Shameful.

Confederate monuments deserve no place on a college campus.
