Congress should censure President Trump

Politics by its nature is rife with disagreement. As well it should be in a healthy western democracy. Because of the inherent contentious nature of participating in a political system there are a number of rules of decorum written and unwritten.
Every elected official in the United States, as well as judges and other appointed positions swears or attests to an oath to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. While their opinions on issues may differ they are all bound in common to the goal of the oath of office.
President Trump has, in a few short weeks, gone out of his way to disparage, on a personal level, Judges, Senators, and others. By doing so he has demeaned the Judiciary and Legislative branches of government and by proxy the people of the United States of America in the eyes of the world and in the hearts of our fellow citizens.
Because of these actions I propose the following petition to be presented to the House and Senate of the United States Congress.
We the People of the United States of America, conservative and liberal, republican and democrat alike are troubled and offended by the willingness of the President of the United States to make personal attacks on members of the Judiciary, Senate, and House of Representatives. His flagrant violation of generally accepted rules of decorum and lack of professional respect for those who take a contrary view to the President demean our great country in the eyes of the world and exacerbates an already overly contentious political atmosphere by introducing personal attacks into the realm of political discourse.
We ask both houses of Congress to censure the President of the United States and any other persons in the Executive branch who insist on disparaging members of the Judicial and Legislative branches of government as well as private citizens who may take a contrary view to the President of the United States.
