Reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban and Remove Weapons of War from our Streets
This petition had 1,153 supporters
In 2004, The Federal Assault Weapons Ban expired and since then several constitutional challenges were filed against provisions of the ban, but all were rejected by reviewing courts. There were multiple attempts to renew the ban, but none succeeded.
Our current GOP-led Congress has rejected a measure that would have denied people on the terrorist watch list the ability to buy guns and have refused to reinstate the Federal assault weapons ban. NOTHING IS BEING DONE BY OUR POLITICIANS TO PROTECT OUR LIVES.
IT IS TIME FOR THIS TO CHANGE. As mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and friends we have to force our leaders to get these WEAPONS OF WAR off the streets and out of the hands of terrorists, mentally ill, radicalized and racist individuals.
Please sign this petition to show your support for reinstating the Federal Assault Weapons Band and for getting strict weapons laws in to place ASAP. We can no longer allow our children to die.
Our goal is to get as many signatures as humanly possible but once we hit 1 million, we will take our plea for action directly to Congressional leaders and demand change.
