Christ is Risen!
Dear Ukrainian Community of Toronto!

Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God needs your help.
We are extremely sad to announce that on May 4, 2021, the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada made a sudden decision to suspended long term pastor Fr. Jozeph Zyla’s from his position of parochial administrator of Holy Protection parish in Toronto, as well banned him from performing worship mass.
Parishioners of the church, as well as members of the Ukrainian community, are very disappointed by this decision.
Father Zhyla has been faithfully serving the parish of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God for the last 33 years and has been its pastor for more than 10 years.
It was under the administration of Father Zyla that the parish gained the greatest success and recognition among the Ukrainian community in Canada.
In 2019, for supporting unhealthy and weak people, the Church's online television has been created, by Father Joseph Zyla. And it was this television that becomes crucial support for the Ukrainian Toronto Community in 2020-2021 during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tens of thousands of people have the opportunity to be spiritually united in prayers and to glorify the Lord through the Holy Protection television that has been created by pastor Joseph Zyla.
During the Nativity of Christ and Easter 2021, thanks to Pastor Zyla, the church left its doors open for people and, by following all government regulations in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, accommodate believers, and gave them the opportunity to receive Holy Communion, confession and pray to glorify the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We ask all members of the Ukrainian Community in Canada to sign this petition
to the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada to reconsider their premature decision of removal of father Jozeph Zyla from the office and revoke his ban on worship.
Only in this way can we be sure that the doors of our church will remain open to the Ukrainian Community of Toronto.
In unity is our strength! Glory to Jesus Christ!
