The UK Nannies Matter campaign aims to have Nannies recognised as Professionals by advocating and regulating Nannies in all child-care settings within the UK
This petition will be presented to MPs and Early Years policy makers across the country to advocate for these positive changes within the Nanny industry.
Advocating for Nannies in the Early Years Sector:
- Creating a guided pay scale
- Providing T&C’s of employment via a contract
- Creating a min. requirement of knowledge and qualifications to benchmark a Prof Nanny
- Providing a credible CPD journey, maintain a certain standard
- Establishing a system/register that recognises credible Nannies
Providing Regulation Would:
- Revise the quality and standard of care in the home-based Early Years Sector
- Give Nannies a scale to work towards, giving them a vision, career path and guidance
- Give parents the reassurance of grades of childcare and value for salaries offered
- Increase the safety of Nannies and safeguard children
Proposed Min Requirements of Prof Status:
- A recognised childcare qual. of study
- Nanny Insurance
- DBS Enhanced Certificate
- 12 Hr Paediatric First Aid
