I am 17 and suffering from mental health problems and the amount of times I get told to smile and be happy and to cheer up because there's nothing wrong with me is unbelievable. The amount of times I get told it's all in my head and it's just a word is sickening. I never knew what it was like to have a mental illness until I experienced it for myself and I canhonestly say I've never felt so scared and alone

My son has mental health issues and the health authorities didn't act quickly enough even though I constantly contacted them crying out for help. This needs to be recognised quickly and not dismissed as being a teenager.

I've seen a reduction in the services that have helped mental health patients through the worst times of their illnesses. Especially groups that I believe have helped sufferers to keep going in painful times and be a lot less isolated than they would have been. Also these groups at Cmht centres have taught people essential life skills in the past. Occupational therapist seemed to have declined in number. Long waiting lists for talk therapy are also common.

I have depression and anxiety and when I moved out of London, the support from the NHS was no longer there, the rest of the country has poor access to metal health support on NHS and these charities are vital for helping people when they cant help themselves and for raising awareness of an issue that still holds so much stigma.

Because poor mental health support & lack of mental health education is pulling the country backwards. With the right support people with mental health can live productive lives. In fact most people with mental health conditions are intelligent, creative, ambitious & determined beings who have often fought for their lives many times. They are being sedated instead of encouraged. They do not have a voice that is why they are left to suffer. It's very medieval and perpetrators of these unfulfilled policies & lack of change should be brought to shame & justice.
