It's clear that Russia only wants Siberia to protect them from the invasion that will never happen and for national pride. As a result, Siberia has seen little in terms of development. Most Siberians feel like they're being ignored by Moscow. It should come as no surprise that the Russian government would make them feel this way, as most of Russia's population doesn't live in Siberia; most live west of the Ural Mountains in the European part of Russia. It is unfair that these people get largely ignored by the government that's supposed to represent them. The Russian government will never allow Siberia to become its own country as shown in 2014 when they arrested Artyom Loskutov for trying to organize a mock demonstration about the possibility of creating a Siberian Republic. It should also be noted that Siberia doesn't have the proper resources to sustain itself as an independent country. So it should be annexed by the United States. If Siberia became part of the United States it would benefit enormously. Not only would it start seeing the development of the infrastructure Siberia so desperately needs, but it would also have protection from any attacks by the U.S. military, the largest military in the world. There are many other benefits that Siberia would receive, but in short, Siberia would be better off being a part of the United States than being a part of Russia.
