Standardized Testing has more disadvantages than advantages. 

Standardized testing creates an unfair advantage to families with a high - income compared to families with a low - income. Students with high - income are able to spend hundreds of dollars in tutoring while students with low - income don´t have this oppurtunity. Not only that these tests negatively affect the mental health of students and causes more anxiety and stress. Students that are more anxious, jittery, or tense are forced to take standardized tests despite the negative emotions that are associated with them. These tests determine the rest of your life and having a test that determines the future of your carrer, your adult life, college, and your salary in the future is unfair because there is more about you that is important than a test score. 

The No Child Left Behind Act (requires states to test students on Math and English every year in the third through eighth grades, and then again once in high school. It also requires at least one science test in elementary, middle and high school) is what forces students to take these tests.
