Ilire Goca started this petition to The U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing

Many people living in the United States who are blind or visually impaired have trouble differentiating certain bills because they are the same size and color.  Wouldn't it be cool if money were printed with tactile markings or even braille on it?  Imagine that!

Many solutions like having someone tell you how much money you have in your hand and using various Smart Phone apps and other money identifiers have been used and are still used today.  We need to spread the word and show people how important it is to make US currency accessible.

I am blind myself and I personally have a hard time differentiating various bills, unless I use a folding system, a Smart Phone application, or simply, having someone tell me what bill I am holding.  These are all time-consuming strategies and I would like to one day pull a bill out of my pocket and instantly know what it is.

If we do adopt tactile money as our form of currency, that would make the lives of those who are blind or visually impaired so much easier, but if not, we must keep encouraging policymakers to make currency more accessible.

So if you care about making a difference in the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired, then I strongly encourage you to sign my petition.
