I am signing the petition because Brightwood Park should continue to be a natural and passive park. Mountain bikes are not appropriate or compatible and they are more appropriate for larger parks such as Watchung Reservation, the underutilized Oak Ridge Park, or Rahway River Park. The county is building a nature trail in a natural forest area in Union, and Brightwood should be maintained as a natural park with a revitalized nature trail. See

I walk or run in that park just about every day. It’s one of the most natural parks in the State. Please preserve it!

mountain bikers have no right to ruin a
nature preserve. We kept them out of Watchung Reservation and will keep them out of Brightwood !!

I am signing because our town has nothing to gain, and much to lose, if this were to go through.

I love Brightwood Park; we walk there at least 5 days a week, enjoying the natural setting. It’s an oasis of peace which refreshes the soul.
We enjoy seeing the birds and small creatures that live there.
So much land is being taken over for people, let’s leave Brightwood for the animals to inhabit

Quiet spaces should be valued and protected. There are plenty of spaces for kids on bikes to ride . We are developed enough leave nature undisturbed spaces

NJ is overdeveloped as it stands. Rt. 22 is littered with dead dear and fawn. We don't need to take away any more natural habitats.
