Save Your Right to make Decisions about the Trees on Your Property!

Many people purchase a home to live in and enjoy, to build equity and perhaps to supplement their retirement or leave something to their children. If you have a view, you paid a premium to get it!

The new Gibsons Tree Preservation Bylaw could reduce your home’s worth in future years. Two realtors have given a market evaluation of our home value with our current view and its value without our view.

Presently, the range of loss is between $210,000 and $375,000 and as the property values go up, so will the loss. Who will compensate the residents/citizens of Gibsons for this monetary loss and the loss of enjoyment that a view gives?

We, the residents of Gibsons, must unite to protect our investment. If we work together to fight this, we can rescind the Tree Preservation Bylaw No. 1282, 2020.

The majority of Gibsons residents love trees; just take a look at your neighbourhood. We do not want to clear-cut Gibsons. We just want our rights back!

Please see the Tree Preservation Bylaw on the Town of Gibsons’ website at gibsons.ca for more information.
