Elizabeth McDowell started this petition to The Town of Addison

The Town of Addison has started to roll out their Midway Road construction plan.

Unfortunately, the Town’s current construction plans will require the removal of the row of 30+ year old mature oak trees in front of our building, trees that have grown on our grounds since the towers' start in 1986. The Town's current plan is to remove these mature trees and replace them with 3” saplings. My company and I are working intensely to provide an alternate plan to save our beautiful trees, but we need the support of the community. The owners of our building have hired a landscape architect that provided three plans that would allow us to save the trees – but unfortunately the Town rejected all three plans. Additionally, we've learned that the reason the Town is cutting down the trees is to widen the sidewalk.  We are currently working to find a way that allows the Town to widen its sidewalk AND allows the trees to remain.  Importantly, the amazing trees would provide some much needed shade for those walking on the new sidewalk during the summer months!

We would appreciate you signing our petition so we can show The Town how important our trees are to the community! Additionally, if you would like to go the extra mile, you can reach out to Addison City Council and the Addison City Manager's office.
