(Note the date on this video - the information was out there - why was it ignored????)

By banning the use of "Mesh Slings" in Australia and all states it will allow women to have healthier outcomes with their issues with bladder prolapses and stress incontinence because as it stands now, women are suffering terribly, myself personally; with the adverse events caused by the complications the "mesh slings" have created within a short time following the implant. There are many complications egs:- chronic lower body pain - hips - vaginal pain and discomfort, bleeding, urinary tract infections, pain during intercourse, headaches, lower back ache and the mesh protruding through the flesh of the wall of the vaginal cavity; the inability to walk, to work, to be out of pain on a daily basis; sleep deprivation; the emotional toll due to marriages and relationships ending; the list of women and complications gets longer as these products are left on the shelves.

TGA knew in 2006 that there were adverse events in women with the "mesh slings" implanted and continued to monitor this medical product as the evidence mounted against the use of "mesh slings" but they were still left on the shelves for gynecologists to use.

My "mesh sling" was implanted on the 4th February, 2015. My gynecologists did not inform me of any complications from this product and he also did not inform me of how the operation would be completed or offer any clarity about how the "mesh" would create such discomfort in my whole body. I was told I would be a new woman! The word "mesh" was not used in any communications between my gynecologist and myself and I only saw the word "mesh" on a follow-up document my GP received from my gynecologist three months after my operation. My "Mesh Sling" is a Obtryxii and is made by Boston Scientific, who have denied any adverse events happening in women and have put the findings down to a hysterical reaction of the media on this issue.

When I heard about all the women with the same symptoms as mine or worse it made me feel disrespected, vulnerable and very angry that a trained physician could put this toxic material inside me without sharing the possible negative outcome and a life of pain and suffering.

There are class actions happening here in Australia and in the USA but what is needed is immediate action to rid Australia of these products so that:-

NO WOMAN WILL EVER FEEL UNNECESSARY PAIN AND DISCOMFORT. TGA AND THE HEALTH MINISTER NEED TO TAKE ACTION NOW!!! NOT WAIT UNTIL THOUSANDS OF WOMEN END UP DISABLED AND DESTROYED BY THE INCOMPETENCE OF MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS, MEDICAL SUPPLIERS AND THE INCOMPETENT TGA FOR ALLOWING IT TO GET THIS FAR!!!
