The Better World started this petition to the supreme court of india

It is deeply disturbing to know that India records highest premature deaths among under-5 children due to toxic air. This has emerged from the newly-released report of the World Health Organization (WHO) titled ‘Air Pollution and Child Health Prescribing Clean Air’.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) was the second highest cause of death in India after heart disease in 2017, killing 1 million (958,000) Indians that year, according to University of Washington’s Global Burden of Disease study, 2018.COPD led to 13% of all deaths in India, and 7.5 million were at risk of the disease in 2016, IndiaSpendreported in January 2018.

Delhi has turned into a pollution zone so deadly that children in the Capital have the lungs of chain-smokers, and all the associated respiratory ailments.

Early exposure to air pollution affects brain and neurological development, and lung function.

Well, these are not just the written facts; we can all feel the impact of the ever-increasing Airpollution in our everyday lives...if we travel in a local market for a while without any sunglasses, then we can feel the enormous amount of itching caused in our eyes due to the Airpollution, our skin also feel very irritated!!!

All these things tell us that India's future—the youth, the children, the kids—is in danger. To take our nation—our motherland— out of this danger, a quick action is required—which can only be taken by aware citizens like you—yes you who is reading this petition. Sign to this petition to perform your role as an aware citizen and help create a better world.

Well, we all have just got one pair of lungs, so we need to care a lot for them, if we won't care for ourselves then who else will???

Thanks a lot for reading and supporting!!!
