Anti-Cyber Bullying Laws for Juveniles in India

Anti-Cyber Bullying Laws for Juveniles in India
Why this petition matters
INDIAN CHILDREN ARE THE MOST CYBER BULLIED IN THE WORLD! This can lead students to :
- Do poorly in school
- Develop poor self-esteem
- Develop mental health problems
- Develop dependency on alcohol or drugs;
- Consider, attempt or commit suicide
IS THIS THE KIND OF YOUTH WE WANT TO NURTURE IN INDIA?
AND YET...
INDIA DOES NOT HAVE ANY LAWS for the PREVENTION OR PUNISHMENT of CYBER BULLYING for ANY age group.
Every Indian youth comes across some form of Cyber Bullying in their school lives. With the kind of recent incidents surfacing on the internet, it is clear that there is a need for some corrective measure against youth bullying others, and for those bullied. Having been a victim of prolonged physical and cyber bullying myself, I have suffered the agony to mental health and ill ideas this can cause at such a tender age. It took me an insufferable 4 years to speak up...
Given that the issue at hand is so large, I would like to start with measures for the most vulnerable age group - school students and juveniles (almost 40% of all Indian students are victims of cyber bullying)
The Change I am Working to Create:
- Setting up an Anti-Cyber Bullying law to punish cyber-bullies as per juvenile measures (therapy, counselling, probation).
- Establishing a Response System to help those being bullied ( A Helpline to report and prevent Cyber bullying with counselling)
- Helping students like me to gain the courage to stand up against bullying, with the faith that there is a system that has been set up specially to help them in their fight for justice.
With your support for this cause, I believe we can create a change in the confidence and outlook of an entire generation. This will cultivate youth that are more empathetic, confident in their abilities, and respectful of their peers as equals.
Thank you for your support in the battle against Cyber Bullying!
