4 day school weeks have been a hot topic recently. We should have a four day school week because it would help mental health and students and teachers. And attendance would rise because parents could schedule appointments for this day off. As a student a 4 day week would be beneficial to everyone. The extra day off could be used for teacher planning or for them to catch up. For the students it could be an extra day for them to catch up on work, have school clubs or appointments. 

During these days parents could schedule appointments. Instead of kids missing school for appointments parents could schedule them for the day off. Also if kids miss school days they could do the make up work on these specific days.

In America, students as young as eight years old worry about making good grades and getting into college.” Says studyinternational.com. I think a day off could help students reduce stress and help them be more productive throughout the day. 

Some people think that an extra day off would make some kids forget what they learned. And teachers would have to keep reteaching the same material, but I think the latter. I think that the extra day would help kids reduce stress and anxiety.

“But the results show that, even for these young students, a four-day school week had a statistically significant positive impact on maths scores (around 7% extra on average), and a possible positive impact on reading scores.”, Says the guardian.com.

When considering all the pros I think a four day week sounds like a marvelous idea, I think that it would be most beneficial for us to switch. It would be helpful to not just to students but also the teachers as well. It would not just cut costs but improve mental health and students would be less absent. Overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons and it would be smart to consider my idea and hopefully switch to a four day school week one day.
