Children Rights
Inducing someone to change their appearance in order to make them fit in an opinion-based criteria is not right, Moreover this lowers the student's self-esteem! What right does anybody have, To tell another person how to dress and look? As long as they are clean, And their appearance does not cause a physical obstruction to somebody else, Then that should be all, Shouldn't it?
Other schools have it right. They know that haircuts are a matter of personal choice and they haven't had a problem with children having a haircut of their own choice.
A haircut doesnt change anything in academics as well. There isn't any evidence supporting that haircuts have a influence or change in academics.
“It is against child rights; even the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act can be applicable. You cannot take action against the will and consent of the child, by forcing him. A school's code of conduct cannot overrule the law."
We feel uncomfortable in school with short hair feel like an jail bird, We are young adults, We also should be able to learn to make decisions but this policy is ridiculous i hope that we have a right to be comfortable. We also have social issues due to this.
We request all the people reading this to sign this petition and we request the School to stop this policy.
