Bring Backpacks Back To Wilson Middle

Bring Backpacks Back To Wilson Middle

Bring Backpacks Back!
Reasons:
- the binders put unnecessary strain on just one shoulder, instead of evenly across our backs
- the binders are extremely heavy
- the binder rings and zippers break easily
- the binder strap constantly slips off of our shoulder
- everything falls out of the binder
- backpacks will evenly distribute the weight
- backpacks will allow for a slimmer binder without the added bulk
- backpacks are more convenient for students throughout the school day
- backpacks will prevent fallen papers from being lost
- unlike binders, backpacks can be hung up on the back of chairs and are less of a tripping hazard
- backpacks give students a place to put their water bottles and lunchboxes
Binders are a big problem and need to go. The binders put unnecessary strain on just one shoulder, instead of evenly across our backs like backpacks do, making our shoulders extremely sore. The binders are exceedingly heavy and weigh our shoulders down. The rings and zippers break easily, as we walk through our school kids are trying to fix up their binder with all their notebooks and notes sprawled out on the floor. The strap of the binder is always falling off of our shoulders! If you have an open binder, they are always falling out of our arms!
Backpacks evenly distribute weight throughout our body, as to put less strain on our arms and shoulders. Backpacks allow for slimmer binders, with not as much extra weight to carry! Backpacks can prevent loose papers from being lost! The binder system is a heavy and awkward alternative to a more manageable backpack.
