Stop The Student Housing Company making us pay rent if we're not living at uni

In light of the extraordinary global situation we currently find ourselves in and the UK Government’s instructions to stay at home to save lives, we are calling for The Student Housing Company to allow early release from tenancy agreements to all students who have moved out of their accommodation. Though most accommodation companies will be suffering from these commercial losses, we would ask that this be offered openly without further intrusive or personal information being given out and emulate the reasonable and respectable approach that other student accommodation companies in the UK have taken.
We would ask The Student Housing Company to put student safety before profit and allow them an early release from their tenancy agreements, particularly if they have already moved out all their belongings and are living at home.
Regrettably, The Student Housing Company has been misleading over the last weeks with promises of information to be released detailing their approach with regards to the current COVID-19 situation, when many other companies have already released clear, helpful and co-operative statements in this regard.
This week, The Student Housing Company has now supplied a portal where students can make an application for early release from their agreements and are asking for seemingly inappropriate and intrusive information, such as proof and details of student loans as well as proof of parental unemployment or medical conditions.
Does this mean that The Student Housing Company is going to profile students and force those they deem to have enough money to still pay thousands of pounds in rent even though they're not living in the building? This approach seems unethical especially seeing as students with larger maintenance loans are those who are the more disadvantaged.
We are calling for The Student Housing Company to allow everyone who has moved out of their accommodation early release from their tenancy agreements without asking students for all this unnecessary information and follow the reasonable and respectable approach of many other student accommodation companies in the UK.
