We, the public of Jersey, call upon you to not allow any part of the Winston Churchill Memorial Park to be leased and made into a botanical gardens. We wish for the park to continue to be enjoyed as it is and remain free to enter. This park is home to at least four protected species - the red squirrel, grass snakes, green lizards and slow worms, for which major development would be disastrous. The bay has insufficient parking as it is in the summer months. Many people have their loved one's ashes scattered in the park and memorial benches placed within. The soil in this park is totally unsuitable for this project too. There are other sites around the island that could be used for this purpose. This park belongs to the people of Jersey, it should remain that way.
