Change the definition of beer and remove the 12% ABV cap.
Several years ago West Virginia increased the ABV cap on beer to 12%. Since then there has been an influx of new craft beer to West Virginia, which has caused an incredible increase in craft beers sales. However, there is one large issue. Many breweries that currently distribute their beer in West Virginia are unable to distribute some of their higher gravity beers due to this cap. Because of this many West Virginians are traveling across state lines to track down some of these beers. If this cap was lifted, West Virginians would no longer have to travel to buy their favorite beers and could continue to stimulate West Virginia's economy by purchasing more products locally. Do your part to help change the perception of beer in West Virginia and sign this petition to convince the state to lift its arbitrary ABV cap!
