I am Wesley schultz a sophmore at St. John’s High school on Friday May 6th our spirit day was to wear a jersey for jersey day. So I decided to wear a Michigan state basketball jersey before I even walked in my geomtry class my teacher called down my principal and had me dress coded. There are people in my school that put black paint on their face to try to look like a demon. People who wear shorts and skirts with their butt out but it’s okay because they wear fishnet tights underneath! What’s more distracting to education my shoulders showing or taking me out of my class to change and then I don’t learn that material? What’s more distracting people with rainbow colored hair and dog collars on or my shoulders? Men and women should be allowed to wear reasonable things a teenager and the becoming of an adult would wear on a regular basis! If it was not clear I do think there needs to be a dress code but it needs to be more fair have double standards and be more reasonable across all our students. The school dress code need to be changed and it needs to be changed now
